Pattern Description:

A carefree ribbed sock with options for scallops or ruffles at the ankle

A ribbed sock with attitude! This pattern comes in a variety of sizes, with a choice of optional frilled tops for a flamboyant and elastic upper edge. The foot has a ribbed upper for a snug fit.
This sock is ideal for showing off an exotic space-dyed yarn.

This pattern also appears in my book, Cool Socks Warm Feet, available in paper or .pdf formats.

Variable gauge according to preference; approximately 7.5 - 9 sts/inch. Remember: the finer the needles you select, the denser the fabric you will create; the resulting sock will wear longer and keep its shape better than one worked on larger

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Adult Extra Small to Extra Large

  • 100g Fingering weight sock yarn
  • A set of double pointed needles (dpns), 6 - 8" in length, size approximately 2 - 2.5 mm (US # 0 - 11/2)
