Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, yarn over, pick up stitches, bind off, knit in the round, work provisional cast-on

Pattern Description:

This was designed to resemble the Bishop style hand smocked baby dresses my own mother used to sew. It is worked top-down, beginning with a provisional cast-on and is seamless. It would make an adorable winter holiday dress.

It takes approx. 440 (475, 535, 590) yds of sport weight yarn.

Gauge:

22 sts/ 30 rows = 4" stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • To fit 0-3 (3-6, 6-9, 9-12) months

Materials:

  • Needles: US6 (4.00mm) 24" circular plus double pointed or two 16" circular, plus crochet hook US G(4.00mm)

You Will Also Need:

  • 4 buttons to fit buttonholes, stitch marker, tapestry needle, waste yarn or stitch holders

Suggested yarn:

400 yards of Sport weight
