Pattern Description:

This shawl was insired by my love of high quality mohair yarn. My favorite is blended with silk for softness. This pattern was designed for knitters with different skill levels to succeed with this type of yarn, which can be challenging, but worth the effort

The shawl is knit with a simple 2-row lace pattern. Choose from 3 different weights of yarn. The thicker the yarn, the faster and easier it will be to knit. Experienced knitters can choose lace weight mohair yarn (with silk!) to create a gossamer light-as-air, soft-as-a-cloud shawl that can also be worn as a scarf.

Skill Building: This lace looks complex but is very easy to knit, so it is a great first lace stitch to try. The RS row is the lace row; the WS row is just purl. The challenge comes in working with the mohair yarn, which is very hard to rip. If this is your first experience with mohair, choose bulky weight.

Gauge:

18 sts = 3" for lace weight
15 sts = 3" for worsted weight
11 sts = 3" for bulky weight
in lace pattern stitch

Finished Size: 18" wide x 48" long (or desired length)
