Basic Skills Necessary:

  • To complete this project, you will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit stitches, purl stitches, cast off stitches, yarn over, knit two stitches together (k2tog), slip, knit and pass over stitches (skpo), and pick up and knit stitches. The 6 year old sweater will take an average knitter about 15 hours to complete.

Pattern Description:

This beautiful little jacket has short sleeves, a high neckline, and a short waist knit in garter stitch. The body is knit in stockinet stitch. The sleeves are angle inset to give the cardigan beautiful detailing and a gorgeous fall. This cardigan was created by designer Lucinda Segneri in Lyon, France.

In stockinet stitch, a 10 cm (4 inch) square will have 14 stitches and 19 rows.
Across back under arms should measure 30 / 32 (34 / 36 / 39) cm or 12 / 12 1/2 (13 1/2 / 14 / 15 1/2) inches.

  • The pattern is written for sizes 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 years old.
