About the designer

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, increases, decreases, picking up stitches, cabling

Pattern Description:

This relatively simple stitch pattern creates a lovely fabric. I especially love the use of purl stitches as a primary element, and the fact that the pattern works on a background of Stockinette Stitch. Knit this one up with dropped shoulders as shown, or with set-in sleeves if you prefer - instructions for both are included. Use a solid colored yarn as I did, or try a heathered yarn for extra color.

The yarn I used works up at a gauge of 4 sts per inch in Stockinette stitch; if you wish to use a different yarn, make sure you find one that will match this gauge.
