These longies (or shorties) are knit from the waistband down, and except for a bit of kitchener stitch to join the gusset between the legs, are seamless.
As they were originally designed to fit over cloth diapers, there are short rows knit across the bum in the wool version. However, if you would like your little one to wear these as regular pants or over disposable diapers, I've included instructions for a washable cotton version as well. This pattern is all about choices & variations.
Numerous style and finishing options are included, so dig in your stash & let's get knitting!
18 sts = 4" in stockinette stitch

Mom, wife, teacher, knitter, gardener, sporadic knit designer & photographer-- my life is entirely too busy & I wish I could hire someone to clean my house & do the laundry so I can just play! I am a devoted follower of Wendy Bernard, Barbara Walker, and all designers who follow the top-down seamless way. With all of the things I have to do in my life, who has time for sewing up seams?
