Pattern Description:

Doesn't your grandpa have a cozy cardigan to wear around the house?
Cardigan is worked from the bottom up. Shawl collar is extended with short rows to be wider at the neckline. Cabling is worked on the fronts and modified for the sleeves, and the back is knit in a wide-wale rib. Cables are both full written & charted. Knit it oversized to be comfy like Gramps, or to your chest measurement for a little more sass (shown fitted in size M). Gramps is available for babies & children, too!

Gauge:

18 sts and 25 rows per 4 inches in stockinette, 38 sts per 6 inches in Criss Cross Cable Pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished Chest: 30(33.75, 35.75, 39.25, 42.75)[44.75, 48.25, 52] inches
  • Size: XS(S, M, L, XL)[XL/2X, 2X, 3X]

Materials:

  • 1000(1125, 1300, 1450, 1600)[1775, 1975, 2200] yards worsted weight yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • Size 7(4.5 mm) and size 8(5 mm) circular needles and set of 5 DPNs in each size, stitch markers, cable needle; Notions: 6 1-inch buttons, needle and matching thread
