I love the stitch design for this sweater - it's very simple (just a slip stitch pattern done over 2 rows!), yet when you add the contrasting color, it looks very complex. I used just 4 pairs of buttons, and didn't continue them down the length of the sweater; the result is that it doesn't cling to your hips - and it leaves lots of room for movement.
In Fluted Fabric Stitch, 24 sts and 31 rows = 4"/10 cm.
At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
