Pattern Description:

This is my go-to jacket for fall and winter!

Knit with a bulky alpaca-wool blend, this zipped, shawl-collared jacket is a fun knit with its lazy braided cables, seed-stitch background and an original cable-stitch welt pattern.

The jacket has an over-sized silhouette.

Charts and written directions for each of the stitch patters are included in this design.


Gauge (please work one swatch for seed stitch and one of the braid panel; once you have bound-off the swatches, wash and block and then measure:
3.5 sts x 6 rws = 1" in seed stitch
Braid panel (21sts x 12rws) = 4" wide x 2-1/2"

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • pattern includes size XS (36) - 3X (60) finished chest


  • mc: 1000 (1000, 1100, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1500), yards 70%wool, 30% superfine alpaca (bulky weight) - dark green
  • cc: 110 yards 70%wool, 30% superfine alpaca (bulky weight) - navy blue
  • US #10 circular needles (20-24" cable length)
  • US #10 dpns (for knitting sleeves in the round)
  • US #4 dpns
  • stitch markers
