Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, yarn over, make cables, pick up stitches, bind off

Pattern Description:

This sweater is knit top-down and has cable panels on either side of the front bands, down the center of each sleeve and on the sides of the body, under each arm. It also has a 2 stitch cable on each of the 4 raglan seams.

The sweater body is knit flat and the sleeves are knit in the round.

The use of 2 different colors of stitch markers makes knitting easier. I suggest using 8 markers of one color and 8 markers of a second color.


24sts/30rows = 4" in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • sizes for 0-3mos (3-6mos, 6-9mos, 9-12mos)


  • 225 to 415 yds sport wt yarn, size 6US (4.00mm) needles (straight or circular plus dpn's)

You Will Also Need:

  • 16 stitch markers, 6 buttons (to fit buttonholes), waste yarn

Suggested yarn:

415 yards of Sport weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Knit Picks Brava Sport or Lion Brand Babysoft
