I really love the Openwork Rib used in the sleeves, collar, and bottom portion of this cardigan. The Eyelet Pattern used on the upper portion is a great match for the Rib; it gives you coverage while adding to the beauty of the piece. The tie at the high waist pulls the ribbing in nicely so that it flows over your hips and accentuates your figure. Whether you wear this cardigan over its matching pullover (Pattern #164, Empire Waist Cap Sleeve Pullover), or all by itself, you WILL get noticed!
The yarn I used works up at a gauge of 5.25-6 sts per inch in Stockinette stitch; if you wish to use a different yarn, make sure you find one that will match this gauge.
22 sts and 28 rows = 4" (10 cm), using size 6 (4 mm) needles

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
