Basic Skills Necessary:

  • To make this simple baby sweater and hat you need to know how to knit and purl, increase and decrease.

Pattern Description:

A new baby in our family inspired a lot of baby knitting at KnittingGuru!

This sweater set is knitted in one piece beginning at the lower back edge. It's simple to knit and uses very little yarn.

Sock yarns are ideal for baby sweaters because they're soft, washable, and come in such a wonderful range of colors.

In addition to the royal blue and gray, multicolored bright crayon colors or muted pastels would work well in this design. The dark color at the bottom of the sweater enhances the silhouette.
