medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting, purling, picking up stitches, yarnovers, increases, decreaeses

Pattern Description:

I love this feminine cardigan, with its body-hugging lace rib and wide neck opening and collar! The body is worked in one piece, and the sleeves are piced up and worked down--no seaming! And you have your choice of short or long sleeves, so it's great for all seasons.

The yarn I used works up at a gauge of 5.5 sts per inch in Stockinette stitch; if you wish to use a different yarn, make sure you find one that will match this gauge.

24 sts and 30 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Double Eyelet Rib
26 sts and 33 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Rib Pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XXS (29.25") to 6X (67.75")

  • 825-2050 yards light worsted/dk weight yarn
  • size 6 (4 mm) needles

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch markers; stitch holders; 5/8" buttons

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
