When I retired, I felt like it was time to do a bit of 'give back' to the community, so I involve myself in a little voluntary work, and take great pleasure from knitting for charity......when I designed this pattern (which has been tested for accuracy), I thought that publishing it would perhaps help me to raise a little extra cash to donate to the local charity Caritas. I sell any toys I make if I can, and all the monies, apart from the cost of materials is given to this very worthwhile charity. I would be so delighted if you buy and enjoy this pattern as much as I have designing it and making it. Hopefully over time I will be able to add more patterns to my portfolio xxView all patterns by designer (11) »
Make something just a bit different, but that is still simple.......I knit mostly for charity now that I am retired, and I often find that I end up making the same pattern over and over. I felt that it would be nice to design a simple pattern, which could be completed in not too long a time, that was ideal for a young girl or boy, just by choosing the correct color. I decided upon a vest type sweater, as it can be useful on its own, or as an extra layer. It is attractive to look at too, which is an added bonus.
As a charity garment, the gauge isn't as important as if the garment were to be made for a family member.
