This stunning multidirectional cabled shrug, which Gaughan dubs a "capecho," is knit one five-cable pentagon at a time. The sleeves are 2x2-rib extensions of a pentagon.

Gauge:

18 sts and 24 rows = 4"/10cm
over St st using size 9 (5.5mm)
needles.
