Women, Plus-sized

Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, increases, decreases, picking up stitches, cabling

Pattern Description:

I love the way the cable panels on this piece dress up the Stockinette stitch, and how the panel and shaping at the waist draw the skirt in to accentuate your waist. For the skirt, bodice, and sleeves, the cable panels are worked first, then stitches are picked up from the long edge of the panel. The skirt and bodice are worked in the round after pick-up, and the sleeves are worked back and forth. The collar panel is worked separately.

24 sts and 30 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XXS (28") to 6X (68")

  • 875-2175 yards light worsted/DK weight yarn
  • sizes 6 (4 mm), 4 (3.5 mm), and 3 (3.25) mm needles

You Will Also Need:

  • cable needle; stitch markers; stitch holders; hooks and eyes or snaps (optional)

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
