I love the slim cables, and how well the tiny openwork ribs set them off! The vest is worked in the round to the armholes, the neckband is worked along with the neck shaping, and the shoulders are joined with 3-Needle Bind-Off, so the only finishing is the armhole edging.
The yarn I used works up at a gauge of 5.5 sts per inch in Stockinette stitch, according to the manufacturer. However, I feel that it really should be knit at 6 sts per inch, so if you wish to use a different yarn, make sure you find one that will match the gauge of 6 sts per inch.

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
