Pattern Description:

This knit bomber jacket will bring out the explorer in knitters who love an exciting project. Knit in two identical, but separate and contrasting pieces, the lining fits neatly into the exterior piece, adding to its warmth and allowing contrast in the turnback collar and cuffs, reminiscent of its original sheepskin counterpart. The jacket is fitted slightly and its 5-button closure and I-cord belt keep it close on those days when you are flying into the wind.


8 sts and 10 rows = 2" (5cm)

  • XS, finished chest 32" (81cm)
  • S, finished chest 36" (91cm)
  • M, finished chest 40" (102cm)
  • L, finished chest 44" (112cm)
  • XL, finished chest 48" (122cm)
  • XXL, finished chest 52" (132cm)


  • Chunky yarn, 840 yds (770m) - 1200 yds (1095m for jacket, 730 yds (670m) - 1090 yds (995m) for lining
  • Size 10 (6mm) circular needles, 29" (74cm) long
  • Size 10 (6mm) double-pointed needles
  • Size 9 (5.5mm) crochet hook

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle (blunt point) for finishing
  • Stitch holders
  • Stitch markers
  • 5 buttons, 1" (2.5cm) diameter
  • 5 flat support buttons, 1" (2.5cm) diamter
  • 8 small support buttons for back of belt loops
