A simple but striking top down cardigan with set in sleeves. Understated and elegant, with beautiful lace panels at the front, simple garter stitch edgings and three-quarter length sleeves. The cardigan is worked down from the shoulders in three sections (back, right front and left front) then joined in the round to make armholes. The rest of the body is worked flat down to the hem. Stitches are picked up round the armholes for the sleeves, and picked up from the two fronts and neck for the button band. The cardigan is fastened with three mother-of-pearl buttons. The pattern gives 10 sizes, to fit a 32 ( 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 48, 52, 56)" bust.
19 sts and 28 rows = 4" in stocking stitch.
