Basic Skills Necessary:

  • long-tail cast-on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, yarn over, bind off.

Pattern Description:

Got small remnants of bulky yarn that you don't know what to do with?
Need an instant-gratification project? A last-minute baby shower present? A pair in newborn size takes about an hour (ok, maybe a tiny bit more) to whip up :)

These adorable and cozy elf-like baby booties are super easy to knit, as they are worked flat from the sole to the cuff -- they require only a small amount of seaming.

In addition to the main design, meant to be a companion to the Red Riding Coat, instructions for the 2 simple variations shown in the pictures are also included. This is a great template to come up with your own unique version!

Gauge:

14 sts x 20 rows = 4 inches or 10 cm in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Newborn (0-3mo, 3-6mo, 6-12mo, 12-18mo, 18-24mo)
