Pattern Description:

Through the years I've often knitted for charity. A recent call for baby socks inspired me to write out the directions I use. These are top-down socks knitted in the round on 4 needles, with a heel flap. Toes are Kitchener stitch closed. Ribbing helps to hold the socks on squirmy babies' feet. This pattern is sized for a 6- to 12-month old. These tiny socks are a perfect way to warm up babies and to use up the leftover yarn from your other sock projects.

7.5 stitches to the inch [2.5 cm]
Gauge is not terribly important since you're not trying to fit a specific individual

  • approx 1 ounce [30 gm] sock yarn (fingering weight)
  • 1 set of double-pointed needles, US size 1.5 [2.5 mm]

Suggested yarn:

1 ounces of Fingering weight

Christine Marie on

Yarn arts have been a part of my life since my mom taught me to knit when I was 10. My house is full of sweaters, mittens, dish towels, dolls, bath mats, and other items I've knitted or crocheted. Loved ones stay warm with my hand-knitted socks, gloves, hats, and scarves. Many of them are my own designs. I love sharing my creations with other yarn artists.
