Intermediate
In the summer of 2011, I won a 1st Place Blue Ribbon at the county fair for my kimono jacket ensemble, which included this jacket with a matching purse, necklace, earrings and shawl pin. I wanted a loosely fitting, flowing jacket with a nice drape for "dress up" occasions.
I'm offering the pattern for the jacket only. It really is an easy knit in one piece, but I designated it as an Intermediate skill level knit because stitches need to be picked up and the knitter needs to be able to do single crochet and reverse single crochet. Because of its unstructured design, it looks lovely on women who wear sizes Small through Extra Large.
I loved designing this, I loved making this, I loved winning a Blue Ribbon for it ... and I love wearing it! I think you'll have fun making it and will enjoy wearing it too. And if you decide to enter it into your fair's competition, GOOD LUCK!
As with all my patterns, if you need any assistance or have any questions while you work this project, just contact me and I'll be very happy to help. I want you to have an enjoyable knitting experience with a successful outcome.
A SPECIAL NOTE OF THANKS TO MY MODELS AND GOOD FRIENDS LINDA AND SUSAN!

I am certified as a Level 1 Master Hand Knitter by The Knitting Guild Association. My grandmother Lena taught me to knit when I was 4 years old and told me that a lifetime of knitting pleasure was her legacy to me. I love to design and knit and enter my work in competitions. I've won numerous awards and ribbons over the years and that's a lot of fun, but the greatest pleasure is the actual creative process. I specialize in Beginner and Intermediate level designs that teach new skills and promote excitement for the art that is Knitting. I think new knitters should have the opportunity to work with a well-written design that reinforces their current skills, teaches them new skills and gets a "WOW, you made that?!!?" response when showing off their completed project.
