Just like the famed goddess Athena, who was born by springing completely grown, clothed and battle-armed from the head of her father Zeus, the idea for this sweater came to me fully formed as soon as I set eyes on this beautiful yarn.
The loose, slouchy, off-the-shoulder fit is both casual and stylish - with just the tiniest hint of an 80's vibe. Bold cables worked up the sides of the body and sleeves and along the shoulders not only provide some textural and visual interest, but also take the place of seams - avoiding any extra bulk in an already bulky yarn.
Athena is an ultra-quick knit, worked mainly in garter stitch, with minimal finishing to get in the way of your instant gratification.
This sweater is designed to be oversized - if in doubt, or between sizes - size up!
1.75 sts/4 rows = 4″ in garter stitch on larger needles

She has been knitting since she was 5, and couldn't imagine life without needles in hand. Past projects bring memories of life events back to her as vividly as certain scents do for others.
Right now she tries to fit knitting and designing around looking after her two preschool daughters - secretly hoping that soon they'll be able to do the sample knitting for her!
