Downloadable knitting pattern to make the original design Eastport Alpaca baby pullover .
This little sweater, in 4 sizes to fit baby from Newborn to 18 months, is knit in the round to the armhole shaping where the front and back are divided and worked separately.
The sleeves are also knit separately with a shaped cap then set-in for a fitted, more dressy look.
The Eastport Alpaca, either factory or Hand Spun, makes it extra luxurious and oh, so soft but you can use any soft natural fiber yarn that gives you the correct gauge.
As with all of my patterns I've chosen a yarn in a very common gauge so that your yarn substitutions will be easy to make.
Be sure to choose a very soft and luxurious natural fiber yarn. The simple design will make your luxury yarn "sing". It is especially lovely in handspun yarn which can be purchased at my web site or my Etsy store. Just mention the pattern and I'll spin it with this design in mind.
The design is classic and timeless, simple and elegant, always in fashion and perfect for heirloom knitting.
I wanted a simple but classy design for a little boy. The shaped armhole gives it a dressier, more fitted look. Of course, this would also look beautiful on a baby girl if knit in a complimentary colour.
A trio of buttons on the shoulder adds style and makes for easier dressing.

I love doing things by hand. I love quality, natural and organic and I love things that last and don't pollute the earth. Authentic goods of quality, simple and true, are not easy to find in today's mass produced and disposable world but making something by hand, of one's own design, with the best materials available in the world goes a long way toward this ambitious goal.

I work in my studio in our Century Farmhouse on the northern (Canadian) shore of Lake Ontario in the small island farming community of Prince Edward County.
I have been knitting, spinning, sewing and quilting as well as hand painting yarns and fabrics for these crafts for many many years.
My passion is discovering and playing with exotic natural luxury fibers and finding creative ways to bring out the best qualities in each fiber. I have 6 spinning wheels but usually go straight to my Louet S45 to sit and spin for a while.
