When I finished this shawl and laid it out to look at it, I was immediately struck with how it resembled the sun - a yellow dwarf star. While the name was partly inspired by the color I chose, this one will work well in a variety of yarns. This pattern features a garter body with a textured border knit sideways and connected to the body of the shawl as you go (NO SEAMING!).
NOTE: Regarding the stitch count you'll need to make the pattern work - the pattern says a multiple of 19 or 20 plus 4, but any multiple of 19 or 20 plus 3 works as well. Plus or minus one stitch from what the pattern says can easily be "fudged".
This pattern includes both written and charted instructions, as well as instructions for adjusting the size of the shawl and border.
