Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • how to knit in the round
  • basic lace stitches (e,g. yo, ssk, k2tog)

Pattern Description:

A slouchy lace beanie hat knitted in luxury yarn. So soft and cosy! The pictured yarn is handspun yak down (chunky lace patterns seem to suit handspun so well), but I have suggested a commercially available alternative. The lace pattern is really simple and easy to memorise, but looks stunning. I have included both charts and written instructions for the lace pattern.

Gauge: 22 stitches and 28 rows =
4" in stocking stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Dimensions: To fit an average ladies head (about 22" around).

  • Yarn: Great Northern Yarns 100% Extra Virgin Yak, 1 skein = 230 yards/210 metres OR handspun yak down
  • Needles: Set of four 4.5mm / US 7 double pointed needles
