Pattern Description:

When I was knitting my lace knit fingerless gloves, my husband said he would like a pair of fingerless gloves to work in his shop so he could continue to feel the work surface. I thought of cables for a man's design. I wanted to do a design that is not already out there. I always love how old gnarly trees look in the winter when all the twists and turns are visable. It was a real challenge to get the cable to go where I wanted it to go but I am really pleased with the result.

I love the trees in winter that show just how strong they are. I decided to design a cable stitch to commemorate the winter tree.

These fingerless gloves will keep any man????3/4s hands warm but give the finger dexterity to feel his work.

Gauge:

In stockinette stitch: 5 stitches = 1 inch (2.5 cm), 7 rows = 1 inch (2.5 cm)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Adult Male or Large size for Women????? Circumference around hand above thumb: 7 3/4 inches (20 cm).
  • It is 6 1/2 inch around the wrist and 7 1/2" around the knuckles when it is resting. My husband, who wears large size men's gloves, wrists are 7 1/2 inch around and his knuckles are 9 inch around. Because the knit is so stretchy, they are in no means stretched to the to the max when he tries them on.

111 yards of Worsted weight
