Women, Girls

Skill Level:

little skill level requirement Novice

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting in the round

Pattern Description:

I wanted to design something simple, easy to make, that looks like much more. Here the linen stitch is used in 3 colors (only one color per round) and looks so sophisticated. SInce linen stitch can work up more slowly, garter stitch bands help move it along faster and gives a pretty contrast.

Two sizes, a "necklet" (shown) and a longer cowl (large) give the knitter choices. A quick gift to knit up for someone (or for you...) it uses sport or fingering weight yarn on larger than normal needles to keep it thin and gives lovely drape to the fabric.

21 sts = 4 inches on larger needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 21" or 46" circumference

  • 160 or 500 yds sport or fingering weight yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • US size 5 & 6 circular needles 24 " or longer

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

cascade 220 sport

plum, brown & pink
