Pattern Description:

The Whirligig Hat by Jo Harris in BelangorTM French Angora is a versatile accessory that can be styled several different ways. The whirligig stitch pattern combined with the Angora yarn creates a beautiful effect. This hat is knit seamlessly in the round.

About the designer: Jo Harris lives in the knitting mecca of Madison, WI with her husband and parakeet. In addition to designing knitting patterns and teaching knitting classes, Jo also canes chairs. As an active member of the Madison Knitter's Guild, she has an almost constant opportunity to discuss anything knitting related.

Gauge:

16 sts = 4" (10 cm) in garter st

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 7" (17.75 cm) high and 22.5" (57 cm) circumference

Materials:

  • Galler Yarns Belangor(tm), 809 - Beige colorway (0.35 oz/10 g, 33 yds/30 m) - 3 skeins
  • US 10/6 mm 16" circular knitting needles or any size needed to obtain gauge. Dpn can be used if desired.
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle
  • Row counter (optional)
