Pattern Description:

The Watersport hat is a traditional beret worked in the round from the brim and up. It features slipped stitches and eyelets which I have combined to create a gentle swirl that continues into the tip of the crown. It is a timeless, feminine design with a contemporary twist.

The pattern is knitted in Malabrigo Worsted, a soft single yarn with great stitch definition.


To Fit Size
Head circumference 18 (20, 22, 24) in / 45.5 (51, 56, 61) cm, shown in size 22 in / 56 cm.

Gauge:

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in Stocking stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Brim circumference 16 (17 3/4, 19 1/2, 21 1/4) in / 40.5 (45, 49.5, 54) cm.

Materials:

  • Size 4.5mm (US7) short circular needle or a set of double pointed needles. Size 5mm (US8) short circular needle or a set of double pointed needles. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to get the correct gauge. Six stitch markers (with one stitch marker in contrasting colour to note the beginning of round), cable needle and tapestry needle.
