Vendanges, the French word for grape harvesting in a vineyard, was inspired by my parent's vineyard and the beautiful scenery I have the chance to witness every year at this very special event. As this event takes place during the Fall, I always need to cover my shoulders as the evening sets in. This simple yet pretty shawl was inspired by such need, with just the right touch of feminine rusticity.
This design comes in two classic shapes and yarn weight. The triangular shape uses a heavier DK weight yarn and more yardage while the crescent shape uses a lighter sport weight yarn and less yardage.
The pleats in this design are shaped with short rows, and may constitute the perfect first short row project for the knitter wanting to try this essential technique.
20 sts over 28 rows blocked in garter stitch over 4 inches square
360 yards of Sport weight

I have been designing since 2008 and started being more professionally interested during the year 2010. I focus my designs on my own selfish interests: garments and accessories for boys (or unisex, of course), women and occasionally men.
