Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit
  • Purl
  • Provisional Cast On (explained in instructions)
  • Short Rows (explained in instructions)
  • Stranded Color Work

Pattern Description:

Whether you are speeding up and down mountains, cruising around town, or proclaiming your love of two-wheeled human-powered transportation, Velomeisters will help you get to your destination.

These socks are 60 sts around and knit toe up with short row toes and heels. If the short row toe/heel method is not your favorite, it is easy to replace them with your preferred method.


28sts/40rows = 4x4in/10x10 cm stockinette with size 0/ 2.0mm needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 8in/ 20.3cm from toe to heel in image.The length can be easily adjusted.
  • 5in/ 12.7cm from heel to cuff
  • 7in/ 17.8cm around ball of foot unstretched


  • One skein of Cascade Heritage, fingering weight, 437yds/ 400m, (75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon) in: 5601 (Night) MC, 5630 (Anis) CC
  • Size 0/ 2.0mm 12in/ 30.5mm circular needles
  • Size B/2.25mm hook (for provisional cast on)
