The love that I have for knitting and the pure joy that it brings me has been passed down to me from both my mother and my grandmother. Decades later, my passion for knitting has only deepened. I know that knitting will always be an intrinsic part of my life, and I am excited to conjure up new ideas, designs and projects.
Besides knitting I love crocheting, cross-stitching, sewing, cooking, listening to music, watching movies, etc, etc, etc.--I wish a day was longer sometimes! I find indulging in creative pursuits is very therapeutic and relaxing much like yoga.
Each year on February 14th, people, young and old, come together to celebrate love. Valentine's Day is a day to rejoice in the many different types of relationships we have with those we care about the most. To symbolize this commitment to one another, my latest pattern "Two Souls," is the perfect celebration of love.
This pattern can be used 365 days of the year as we all know love is a life-long practice.
The design brings together two geometric pieces of beautiful fiery red knitted lace fabric in a pattern that is reversible and made up of just two repetitive rows. The sole effect of the shaping is rendered on the opposite side and creates a triangle. Knit like a pair of socks, the two triangular pieces can then be sewn together RS-WS, RS-RS, WS-WS, RS-RS -- WS-WS to make a triangular shawl, a cowl, stole or a rectangular scarf. There is also the possibility of combining both pieces to create a parallelogram that can be worn as a scarf.
