This scarf is made of a combination of twisted stitches either side of a snaking single cable, with a soft lacy frill to the ends. The twisted stitches create a thick fabric which makes the scarf very warm. The twisted stitch takes a little getting used to but is relatively easy to do, once you have completed a few rows you will have found a good rhythm. I made one sample using Bergere de France Magic+ and one sample using Mirasol Miski (which is wonderfully soft), but any worsted, double knit or aran would work just as well. I recommend a slightly larger needle than you would normally use as the twisted stitch works better with large needles. The size is easily adapted and the scarf could be made with a plain edge. Information on how to do this is included in the pattern.

Like many I took a couple of decades off my knitting and crochet whilst my working life took over, but now I am catching up. I always have a hook or pair of needles close by; my fingers do not like to rest. After reacquainting myself with my old hobbies, I progresed to creating my own designs. It seemed a natural progression for me, as did running crochet workshops in the NW of England.
Those who have tried my designs will know that I love creating simple designs that look very effective, after all life doesn't need to be complicated! And I understand that many people like a bit of television or music knitting/crochet, so the easier they are the better it is to enjoy the world around you whilst enjoying your craft.
