Pattern Description:

The Felted Tulip Bag is a bright and colourful addition to any wardrobe, and is guaranteed to lift your spirits on a dull grey day. It brings a touch of spring to your wardrobe, no matter what time of year it is.

This unusual bucket bag is knit, felted and then embellished using felt and embroidery silks. The embellishment is not necessary to have a lovely bag, but it does give you a one of kind, stand out accessory. Even if you have never done embroidery before, this embellishment is very simple and a good place to start practising a new skill, as full illustrated instructions are given.

This 22 page pattern and tutorial clearly outlines all the embroidery steps, along with full instructions on how to line this unusual shaped bag, and add handles. If you can sew a straight line on a sewing machine then you should be able to follow these tutorials, which will take your bag making to another level.

Is not relevant because the felting will take care of any variations in fabric density after knitting.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 14" x 10" (Approximately because felting is not an exact science)

  • 1/2 - 1m of Quilting Cotton

I have been knitting and crocheting since 2008. I taught myself to crochet out of a book, but got stuck at trying to teach myself how to read knitting patterns. It was all the abbreviations that got me! I joined a course at my local adult education college and fell in love with it.

As I fell more in love with knitting I searched for the patterns I had in my head and couldn't find them. So I ...
