This pattern is for a simple cowl that combines stockinette and garter stitch. This pattern is ideal for showing off handspun thick and thin yarns. The pattern plays with gauge, which is great for showcasing the variations in texture of handspun yarn. This pattern would be very easy to customize, for a longer cowl cast on more stitches, and for a taller cowl knit more rows. As written the cowl will use only one skein of thick & thin yarn.

I started knitting in the long cold winters of Armenia while serving in the Peace Corps. Knitting was a way for me to keep some remaining shreds of sanity. My first knitting projects were small toys that I would hide in my friends homes when I went to visit them...Ok, maybe knitting fed my lack of sanity.
