Threes Triangular Shawl

from Knitting In Between
(6) Name: 'Knitting : Threes Triangular Shawl
Threes Triangular Shawl

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • co, bo, knit, purl, yo, knit into the front and back of a stitch, slip a stitch with the yarn in front

Pattern Description:

This is a good pattern for beginners -- it's simple without being boring, and can be made as large or as small as you want. The yardage shown is for the shawl in the photos -- you'll need less for a smaller shawl, more for a larger one.

The finished size of the shawl shown is 26" long at the center and 49" wide across the top. It used 416 yards of yarn.

Although I have included a gauge for the yarn I used, gauge is not important for this pattern -- it can be knitted with any weight of yarn, with any size needle. I recommend using a needle at the upper range of the suggested needles for the yarn you're using.

6 stitches and 6 rows = 1 inch in knit 3, purl 3

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • approx.26 inches long at center, 49 inches across the top

  • 370-450 yards of aran weight yarn, size 10 needles

You Will Also Need:

  • two stitch markers to indicate yo placement (optional)
