Basic Skills Necessary:

  • cast on
  • knit and purl
  • increase by knitting into the front and the back of a stitch
  • decrease by knitting 2 stitches together
  • knit in the round using double-pointed needles
  • bind off

Pattern Description:

A sweet and special hat for your little one! The Petula features a scalloped edge, baby bobbles and a stem with petal topknot.

All these techniques are fully explained in the pattern and are not difficult to do. My patterns are written in a non-traditional way to be very beginner-friendly. I use few, if any, abbreviations and give instructions in a row-by-row format in easy-to-read large type with a color picture of the finished project.

This pattern uses very little yarn so you can splurge on a bit of luxury - even cashmere! It makes a very special baby gift that can become a family heirloom.

Kits are available for this project - just add needles!
