Pattern Description:

My ears were cold on early morning dog walks, so I designed this colorful headband. The easy slip-stitch pattern provides a comfortable layer of warmth, and the optional flower embellishment is fun to make and wear.

A soccer mom friend fell in love with that first headband and wanted one in her favorite team colors. I made one for her, and several more for other friends to wear when cheering on athletic offspring.

Two skeins of Cascade 220 will make at least three headbands. Any worsted-weight yarn may be substituted.

The pattern includes detailed instructions and photos for making and attaching the optional flower, as well as suggestions for designing your own knit pieces -- scarves, shawls, and blankets -- using this easy, versatile, slip stitch technique.

23 stitches = 4" in Slip Stitch Pattern
