Carrie Sullivan, aka Irish Girlie Knits, is a blogger, sock-obsessed knitter, and designer known for her deceptively simple, perfectly gorgeous designs such as Cotty and Summer Wind. In addition to her self-published pattern line, Carrie has designed for sock clubs and yarn companies such as Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin' Sock Club, the Woolgirl Sock Club, The Plucky Knitter Classics, and Kollage Yarns. Carrie also made her teaching debut at Sock Summit 2011. Her knitting adventures, as well as her two cute doggies and ever-growing sock yarn stash are blogged about at We Do Not Have A Knitting Problem.
By day, Carrie runs a clinic for children with autism in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her Masters in Special Education from San Francisco State University and her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. Go Irish!
Sometimes all it takes is a simple name to inspire a design. Chateau, the colorway name of Kollge Yarns' Sock-a-licious Yarn, made me think of lazy days on the porch of a beautiful southern home, with columns similar to those of Tara, sipping sweet tea. A southern home perhaps because the yarn arrived with a postmark from Alabama, home of Kollge Yarns. ...Alabama...lace...columns...chateau...home...sweet home.
