Sweet As Honey Scarf

from Knitting In Between
(6) Name: 'Knitting : Sweet As Honey Scarf
Sweet As Honey Scarf

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • co, bo, knit, sl 1, knit into the front and back of a stitch, k2tog, ssk, slip one stitch purlwise with yarn in front

Pattern Description:

This scarf is knit on the bias, and the stitch pattern reverses sides every 13 rows. The ends flare out and slant -- this can be reduced during blocking. I love the look of a bias knit scarf, but wanted something a bit more eye-pleasing than stockinette or garter stitch. One of the features of this pattern is that it can be made for either a man or woman, depending on the yarn choice.

The pattern includes instructions for increasing the width, and it can be knitted to whatever length is desired.

5 stitches/6 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch, unblocked

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • approx. 4 inches wide, 48 inches long

  • 175-200 yards of worsted weight yarn, size 7 needles
