This shawl uses the sunspots stitch from Barbara Walker's 3rd Treasury. To invoke the idea of the sun, I named the shawl Surya who is the main sun god in the Hindu religion.
The pattern is both written and charted.
It has been thoroughly test knitted and tech edited.
24 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch
I live in NYC and love all the crafterly adventures afforded in this great city. I have traveled the world and find knitting gets me through long transport waits. Knitting also makes a great conversation topic; people always feel they can start chatting with the person knitting.
