I started to design this bag as the sun was rising on the Summer solstice. It struck me how the funky red, yellow, and orange wool that I chose looked just like the colors in the sunrise.
This is a quick and easy bag to knit with standard stitches, increases, and decreases. You can choose to do several variations for finishing such as a felted I-cord strap, purchased strap, lining or no lining, eyelets with a drawstring closure, magnetic clasp closure, etc.
Gauge is not critical for this project.
My mom taught me to crochet and sew when I was a child. I learned to knit a few years ago. I have always enjoyed fiber arts as a hobby. Now I have started a new venture. I have an online store called World Village Fibers. My goal is to eventually open a shop in my hometown. Update: I'm very fortunate to have found a nice space for a small fiber arts shop/studio and plan to open in 2012!
