Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cable
  • Grafting

Pattern Description:

This dramatic double-loop cowl utilizes a simple cable pattern to create a fantastically cozy and squishy accessory. The swooping planes of the fabric are reminiscent of tectonic plates diving below each other and are the inspiration for the pattern's name. Worked in heavy-worsted weight yarn, it's quicker to knit than you might think, and more fun to wear than you can imagine.


16 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size fits most. 46" circumference and 7" wide. Measured after blocking.


  • US 10 (6 mm) needle OR size needed to obtain gauge.
