Pattern Description:

I wanted to create a rectangular shawl with excellent drape that displayed traveling cables to good advantage over a lacy background.

Most cable-and-lace patterns have cable panels and lace panels next to each other; the Starlet Stole features cables moving across the lace eyelets themselves, making an elegant and eye-catching statement.

I was taught from childhood that not knowing how to make something is no reason why you can't find out how to make something.

This lesson has served me well, particularly when I taught myself to crochet and to knit several years ago. I now design as well, and enjoy the designing process as much as I enjoy the making process.
