Pattern Description:

This is totally reversible, garter stitch cowl, with a cast on and cast off that look the same as each other and are reversible as well.
The pattern has instructions for working a buttoned version on 2 needles, or in the round on a circular needle, plus photo tutorials for the cast on and off methods.
It can also be made bigger or smaller to suit. The samples shown here use less than 100 gms of Aran weight / thick worsted yarn (such as Noro Silk Garden).
The pattern is easy to learn and would be suitable for a less experienced knitter.


17 sts, 34 rows to 10 cmcs/4", in garter stitch using Noro Silk garden and 4.5 mm (US 7) needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Size is variable to fit any neck

You Will Also Need:

  • 1 pair or circular needles size 4.5 mm (US 7)
  • a crochet hook for the cast on - size 4.5 mm

Suggested yarn:

170 meters of Worsted weight
