Pattern Description:

The majority of the knitting on these lovely
smocked mitts is done inside-out and from the top
to the bottom. So, a little unusual, but very easy!

Before smocking: 38 sts = 4" / 10cm in
unsmocked, unstretched Beaded Purl Rib.

After smocking: 44 sts = 4" / 10cm.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • All mitts are 7.5" / 19cm long. Width at knuckles after smocking: 6.7 (7.6, 8.4)" / 17 (19.5, 21.5) cm.


  • Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Merino (100% merino wool; 420 yds / 384m per 113g skein); color: Peacock;
  • US #3 / 3.25mm needles

You Will Also Need:

  • Waste yarn, yarn needle, stitch markers

Suggested yarn:

840 yards of Fingering weight
