Get your checkerboard on...... on a slant, that is, with this bias-knit bargello cowl. The deep jewel tones of luscious sport-weight merino swim beautifully in square pools of color.
21 sts and 32 rows = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch. Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect color placement, yardage and size of finished garment. It may be necessary to unravel gauge swatch and re-use the yarn. Take time to check gauge.
350 yards of Sport weight
Aunt Frances (my grandmother's sister) taught me to knit when I was 5 years old. I've been knitting ever since. I challenged myself a few years ago by venturing into designing & writing patterns. Be careful what you wish for - you might just get it. My first book, Bargello Knits, is scheduled for release in February 2013 through Cooperative Press (www.cooperativepress.com).
