Pattern Description:

Sommerfrische is a cotton shawl with simple lace details. Knitted with a worsted weight yarn it is great for beginners, for those who are new to knitting as well as for those who want to knit their first shawl and are afraid of thin yarn and complicated stitch patterns. The pattern comes written except for the lace part which is charted.
Sommerfrische was very popular in the 19th century, but this word is hardly used or even known
in today's German, it refers to the habit of rather wealthy townspeople to spend the summer in
the countryside.
You can cover your shoulders with Sommerfrische on chilly summer evenings or at your air-conditioned office.
The pattern contains tips how to knit a bigger shawl. This way you can easy customize the pattern, if you are using a lighter weight yarn.
