The Sweet Tea Scarf Collection will include patterns inspired by all the things I love about living in the South ~ grand front porches, lush trees and plants, summer rainstorms, misty spring mornings in the Smoky Mountains, rolling hills of fall color and sippin' sweet tea year-round. The scarves in this collection can be worn indoors or out and are equally at home with a t-shirt and jeans as a skirt or dress. They can be made using light wool sock yarn or try using fingering weight cotton. So gather your yarn and needles, a tall glass of sweet tea and settle into a comfy rocker on the porch...happy knitting!
The Smoky Mountain Morning Mist Scarf was inspired by the mornings in the Tennessee valleys when a soft blanket of mist filters the stark leafless trees. The tops of the mountains are still visible above the trees and mist.
There are no charts to read and the lace patterns are easy enough for a beginning knitter to work. The pattern instructions are color-coded for easy reading!
Using sock/fingering weight yarn, size US 4 needles and stockinette stitch: 6 sts per inch and 10 rows per inch before blocking.
~Note~
Gauge isn't too important since this isn't a garment. Sock weight yarn can vary quite a bit in thickness. If you find some yarn you really want to use, just begin knitting the scarf, using the needles suggested on the yarn label, to check your gauge and to see if you like the yarn.

My passion is creating knitting patterns that I can share with other knitters. I love the coziness, texture and visual design of knitted fabric. If I could cover everything in the house with knitting I would, and I'm workin' on it! My husband and two teenage boys are wonderfully supportive of my knitting habit and thankfully don't mind living among lots of yarn balls and knitting books. Patterns for knitted lampshade covers, lovely throws, knitted pillow covers and of course knitted curtains are all in the works so check out my projects as I work on them and then my patterns shop to try them out yourself!
All the patterns I sell in my shop come with pattern support. Just send me an email (included in pattern) or post a comment and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have, I love to talk knitting:)
